Our New Home

Terrell and I looked at apartments last weekend on our way to Sherman for an engagement party. We have been looking all year at the hundreds of apartments in Uptown and North Dallas but never fell in love with any one in particular. This past Friday was different. The second we stepped inside, we had a feeling we had found our future home. We talked it over and went back on Saturday to take care of the paperwork. We will be living in East Uptown. We are so excited and feel like we found the perfect place to start our lives together. The second photo was little bit of an accident. I put the camera on the ground very quickly to take a picture of us in front of our door and it happened to be crooked. It actually turned out to be a cool shot.

We were taking the dogs outside Tuesday night when a beautiful double rainbow was stretching from one side of the horizon to the other. I told Terrell I had to find a spot to get a picture so I grabbed my camera and jumped in the car. It was around 8 p.m. and a huge storm was rolling in. By the time I got to campus, the rainbow had disappeared but the clouds and sunset made for a great 45 minutes. I ran around the Baylor Sciences Building trying to get any shots I could. Enjoy.

My Beautiful Nieces

Every time I get to see my nieces, I take my camera. They are always my favorite subjects. I took the photo of Julianne on the front porch only days before little Tessa was born. The photo of Julianne and Aunt Tammy just shows how much those two girls love each other.

Welcome to My Photography Blog

Hello everyone! I recently began dabbling in photography. I purchased a camera in March and have already taken thousands of pictures in a few short months. No matter what I am doing, I find myself saying, "That would be a really cool shot!"

I have always had an interest in photography but have never been able to pursue it. I enjoy shooting structures, windmills, landscapes, my two Golden Retrievers and really anything in regard to Texas. As you will notice, my Texas roots have a strong influence on my photography. There is something intriguing about an old windmill that has pulled water out of the ground for years to sustain wildlife or a rusty barbed wire fence that has kept cattle from wondering too far. Nothing thrills me more than being able to enjoy the great Texas outdoors and possibly capture a little of it along the way. I would love to do portraiture someday, but we will see where it goes. If anything, it is something that relieves stress and I love to do.

I am an Accounting & Real Estate major at Baylor University and will graduate in December. I am marrying the love of my life this New Years Eve and cannot wait to take on the world with her. Shortly after our honeymoon, I start my job at a Public Accounting Firm in Dallas, Texas.

I am sure you are confused as to how a future accountant can find enough creativity to do photography. To tell the truth -- I can't tell you, but when I figure it out, I will let you know. Here are some photos I have taken over the past few months. I will continue to post new pictures so check back often. Enjoy.
